WHAT IS
Spravato?
Spravato is used as a medication for treatment-resistant depression and depression with suicidal features. It is administered as a nasal spray twice a week for four weeks, then in weekly sessions. Spravato causes a brief period of dissociation, often described as pleasant and relaxing, so patients remain in the office for two hours after administration so they can be monitored. This can be an effective treatment for patients suffering from severe, treatment-resistant depression.
